what strikes me about your writing is the vulgar way you mock and put people down. I see Atheism hasn’t done anything for your moral fibre. You criticise Jack chick for making non believers appear silly and the ‘enlightened Christians’ so proud – hello? you’re doing the same thing!

Gideon Bibles are useful for when you’re partying in a Vegas hotel suite and the inspiration strikes you to do a televangelist-style reading of the Song of Solomon. (True story; details are oddly fuzzy.) The hardest part is keeping a straight face: you keep running into stuff like “and his fruit was sweet to my taste”, at which point you feel compelled to point to your open Bible and say, “I’m not making this up!”

I always found the total lack of self consciousness regarding Jack Chick’s racial attitudes on his website entertaining in a sort of pathetic way… until I saw minorities passing out Chick tracts on the subway. Do they realize this guy is a freaking racist?

I’ve been an avid collector of both Chick’s mentally unstable tracts and his “Crusaders” comics, which can get even crazier at times (Issue 9–”Angel of Light”–is my favorite).

Thanks for the heads-up on the new stuff! Chick tracts are like crack to me. I can’t get enough of ‘em.

I didn’t realize Jack was 84 this year. Truth be told, I’ll be sad when he’s no longer around to share his madness (in such an easy-to-carry format!) with the rest of us.
